RATTLESNAKE PRESENTATION 003 003 200x300Sadly, one of our oldest Beech trees fell victim to the high winds we experienced at the end of November.

It damaged the H.M.S. Rattle Snake Memorial, an obelisk which is dedicated to 14 Officers, Seaman and Marines who died while the ship was on patrol on the West African station.

The Royal Naval Association (Plymouth Branch) very kindly funded the repair to the obelisk.

Photo shows Jean Northey and Maggie Heath, both Trustees of Ford Park, receiving a cheque of £300 from the Chairman Des McCarthy of the Royal Naval Association (Plymouth Branch).

In the same event we also lost two memorial benches.

We were very lucky that there was so little damage.
