Burials normally take place between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm (2.30 pm on Fridays). Burials after 3.00 pm (2.30 pm on Fridays) may take place by special arrangement and are charged extra to cover staff overtime.

Burials 1The Trust offers a wide choice in terms of location, price and length of burial right, including rights in perpetuity which are often described as freehold.

Location
Burials can take place in one of the Lawn Areas where the grass is cut regularly and the monuments are of a broadly uniform pattern, or in the traditional part of the Cemetery where headstones can be a maximum of 1.5 m (4'10") in height. In certain parts of the Cemetery kerbs are permitted with or without a headstone.

Cremated Remains
Cremated remains can normally be buried in a family grave. The Trust has also set aside a dedicated area for the burial of cremated remains.

Burial of babies
Ford Park is alone in the City in offering burial graves for foetuses, stillborn children and babies up to the age of one year. The graves are of sufficient size to accommodate the cremated remains of parents.

Burial Rights
Where the burial is to take place in an existing family grave, the only payment required is the interment fee. Where it is necessary for the family to acquire a burial space then the Trust offers a wide choice from a 25 year lease of the burial right in a grave in which a burial has already taken place, to burial right in perpetuity in a newly dug grave.
