Baby Burial Area
Following consultation with some parents, some whom feel the area needs review and some of whom are resistant to additional measures, the Trust has settled on a plan which is in keeping with the nature of this Victorian cemetery but provides an area which acknowledges the brief lives of dearly loved babies and young people.
We have purchased rose bushes and are planning to install railings and a simple gate with decals made in the shape of child friendly images. We have asked our ground staff to check the area on a regular basis to ensure that unsuitable materials are removed promptly and the area is kept to a high standard.
The trustees have decided to rename the area “The Meadow” which has received popular support. An appropriate name plate will be placed in this location.
