Work in progress on the latest area of strip garden for the Commonwealth War Graves on the edge of Section GL (Roman Catholic Section). Photos show the special equipment used to carefully raise and move the old slate headstones to allow the ground to be prepared for laying to lawn and creating a suitable flower bed.

Later the bed will be planted to include Trumpeter roses bushes, as can be seen already in other parts of the cemetery. The Trumpeter rose is a beautiful vivid red and each bush continues to produce flowers well into the autumn.
